NEW HARTFORD WINS TVL GOLF TOURNAMENT AT HIDDEN VALLEY

DEREK BARD FIRES A 72 TO PACE THE SPARTANS

The Tri-Valley Boys Golf League held its annual end of season tournament today at Hidden Valley Golf Club in Whitesboro. The New Hartford Spartans topped the leaderboard when the day was done beating out seven other TVL teams for top honors.
The Spartans beat out VVS by two strokes and Whitesboro, the league's unbeaten regular season champs, to earn bragging rights. Derek Bard came home with the day's best score a 72 to grab individual honors.
Whitesboro was the team on a roll entering today's tourney having wrapped up the regular season with a perfect regular season with a record of (17-0). In fact Whitesboro made it two straight perfect seasons having run the table in 2009 as well.
Coach Eugene Kaczor's crew won the league by two matches and was favored to win the tourney today as well.

Coach Tom Snizek and his New Hartford Spartans have been waiting all season for a chance to make a statement of their own. The Spartans wrapped up the regular season with a record of (12-2 ) in the East and (13-2) overall.
How loud of a statement did the Spartans make? Pretty loud. Led by Freshmen Derek Bard who fired a 72 and junior Kyle Critelli who carded a 74 New Hartford ended up in first with a 146.
The VVS Red Devils finished second with a team scored of 159 and Whitesboro wound up third at 161.
Kyle Renwick fired at 78 to lead his team to the second place finish. Renwick teamed up with Chris Brunscheen who carded an 81.

Whitesboro's young gun Joel Jakubowicz shot a 76 ,just four strokes off the pace, to lead the Warriors. Teammate Bradee Holtslag fired an 85.
The Clinton Warriors continued their solid play finishing fourth with a total of 161. Clinton was led by Tim Waters with an 80 and was followed closely by Garrett Drejza who came home one stroke behind at 81 for coach Bill Owens. Clinton would of the TVL regular season in second place in the West.

Camden, Notre Dame, Holland Patent and Oneida rounded out the field today at Hidden Valley.
